Kaeli Kramer Foundation
“Be kind to everything that Lives”
Inspired by the legacy of Kaeli Sara Kramer, we are dedicated to encouraging a humane and compassionate way of living. At the Kaeli Kramer Foundation we provide sanctuary for at-risk horses, conduct humane education programs and advocate for animal welfare.
Our Mission
The Kaeli Kramer Foundation was born out of a profound love of animals and the desire to create a kinder world. We are committed to rescuing, rehabilitating and providing peaceful sanctuary for horses that have been neglected or abandoned. We have expanded our sanctuary to provide refuge for farm animals.
Meet Our Sanctuary Residents
At our fifty acre sanctuary, we have provided a safe haven to horses from all walks of life. We have rescued wild mustangs who were driven from their Western wilderness homes, rehabilitated former racehorses and provided sanctuary to abandoned lesson and trail horses as well as New York City carriage horses. We have also opened our sanctuary to five cows, two sheep and three goats.

The sanctuary is a place of love, life and heart. All of our residents are given a second chance to live a joyful life in dignity and comfort. The animals are happy and have the freedom to make choices: to socialize with friends, to be solitary, to play, to be grumpy, to be loving, to be themselves, each and every day.
Frequently, horses are viewed as commodities. They are regarded as disposable for profit when they no longer serve their owners’ purpose. These horses come from many places. Some are racehorses who become too expensive to feed after they’ve stopped winning races, some are the pets of children and teenagers who have lost interest or outgrown their ponies and horses, others can no longer work due to age or injury, still others have worked for many years as lesson and trail horses and now their owners no longer want to provide for their care. Many of these animals have given a lifetime of service and in their senior years, unable to be ridden, they find themselves homeless. The vast majority of these animals are sent to auction where they are transported over the border often without food or water to be slaughtered in Mexico and Canada. Tens of thousands of American horses meet this horrific fate each year. All of our animals have found safety and love at the Kaeli Kramer Foundation.
